All of Hollywood’s top-10 highest-paid actors ranging from Wahlberg, The Rock, Vin Diesel, Robert Downey Jr. And Tom Cruise collect more than the top-10 biggest-earning actresses.
Mark Wahlberg tops Forbes’ list of world’s biggest-earning actors this year. The “Transformers: The Last Knight” actor leads with $68 million, twice than the income earned by Hollywood’s 2017 biggest moneymakerEmma Stone. The “La La land” actress sits at the top spot with $26 million.
Walhberg makes a huge leap from last year’s position, thanks to his paychecks as a lead male in movies like “The Last Knight” and “Daddy’s Home 2”. The 46-year-old rapper-turned-actor didn’t even make the top 10 last year. He Jumps a dozen spots after occupying No. 12 in 2016 with an estimated $30 million.
Although the fifth installment of the “Transformers” movie series didn’t perform quite well, the actor still earned big, no matter the film’s performance at the box office, because he got a fixed compensation. The film got a low 15% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and the lowest gross of the franchise.
The “Ted” star unseats last year’s champion Dwayne Johnson. Although earning more than what he made in 2016, The Rock has to settle at the runner-up place. The “Baywatch” actor sat at the top spot with $64.5 million last year, but now he collects an estimated $65 million.
The Rock’s “Fast and Furious” co-star Vin Diesel rounds up the top three. Adam Sandler, Jackie Chan, Robert Downey Jr., Tom Cruise, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Akshay Khumar fill the rest of the top 10 spots in a respective order.
Outside the top 10, there are Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hanks, Samuel L. Jackson, Ryan Gosling, Ryan Reynolds, Matt Damon, Jeremy Renner, Chris Evans, Chris Pratt and Mark Ruffalo.
While the cumulative total earned by the world’s top-ten highest-paid actresses is $172.5 million, the world’s 20 highest-paid actors tally a combined $720 million between June 1, 2016, and June 1, 2017, before fees and taxes.
